Do You Judge?

Bookmark or Share
How many times have either of us brought judgment on someone, they smoked crack, they smoked pot, they committed adultery, they lied, they stole something. They cuss, They abandoned their families for the sake of wild living, they murdered someone, they insulted you, they get drunk they use drugs, and on and on. We feel they deserve what they got, when something tragic happens to them, regardless of a past or present mistake. It is written in the bible what GOD says about all of us, past, present, and future.  Since ALL have sinned and continue to fall short of God's glory.
Romans 3:23 (ISV)

When you break one of the ten commandments you have broken the entire law. GOD offers us all an escape from eternal misery in HELL fire, that is through faith in his SON JESUS the CHRIST, The only faultless person to walk the face of this earth, who died the death of a sinful man, "our sins" not his. Imagine, to pay the price for the sins of all of us who put him on that cross. Talk about true sacrifice.

Lets look at some Bible verses to examine how GOD sees it.

"Why do you see the speck in your brother's eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when the beam is in your own eye?  You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you'll see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
Matt 7:1-5 (ISV)

Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?"  Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
Matt 18:21-22 (NKJV)

In anger his master handed him over to the torturers until he could repay the entire debt.  This is how my heavenly Father will treat each one of you unless you forgive your brother from your hearts."
Matt 18:34-35 (ISV)

Friends, this does not necessarily speak to your immediate family, nor just to your dear friends, this applies to life in general. It refers to the person who cut you off this morning on your way to take care of your duties, this applies to your co-worker. It applies to how we see and judge celebrities, politicians, parishioners, everyone whom we judge, we will be held accountable.

There is no one greater sin than the ones WE commit everyday. GOD offers forgiveness through Faith in his Son JESUS, and he expects us to imitate his forgiveness to others. Therefore, if we judge others, for whatever reasons, past, present or future,  we are in turn saying we hold the key to salvation and we ourselves sit on the judgment seat, we call GOD a liar. Because as it is written "All have sinned and continue to fall short of God's glory. Romans 3:23

They were trying to trap Jesus into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!" Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, "Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?"
 "No, Lord," she said.

And Jesus said, "Neither do I. Go and sin no more."
John 8:6-11 (NLT)

Do you judge? Do you point your finger at people for their mistakes, whether intentional of accidental? Do you judge people because of what they were, or are now? Are you in fact saying you are perfect and they are not? Think it through carefully, your eternal life depends on it. Our souls were created to live forever, and there is only one of two places we will spend it, choose wisely my friend. There is nothing better than ending ones day without bitterness or anger via an unforgiving heart.

Do you in your mind think that would be difficult, to not hold grudges toward anyone who you feel may have harmed you? I will not lie to you, it is difficult, but see, that is where GOD comes in. You receive his SON JESUS as your LORD and savior by faith, and you allow GOD to change you. JESUS does not require you to clean up your act first and then follow him, actually you come as you are, LET GO, and LET GOD.

With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."
Mark 10:27 (NKJV)

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;  does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails.
1 Cor 13:4-8 (NKJV)

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,  that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?  And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Matt 5:43-48 (NKJV)

HOPE

I once climb up to a mountain peak
To take a look at the world beneath
But quickly, I began to run
The world beneath I had to shun
Did my eyes deceive me?
For I just could not believe
So much madness, And plenty of sadness
The world beneath was void of all gladness
Could we ever live together as one?
Regardless of the colors under the sun
If the world put love up high above
We could all live together as one
And our lives together would be so much more fun.

I WON'T

I won't wallow in my sadness,
Instead I'll rejoice with gladness,
I won't give up hope,
Instead I'll climb that slope,
I won't allow myself to get down,
Instead I'll put a smile over my frown,
I won't give into stress,
Instead I'll consider myself blessed,
I won't dwell on the negative,
Instead I'll focus on the positive,
I won't let others get their way,
Instead I'll brighten each new day,
I won't hate for that is wrong,
Instead I'll sing a joyful song,
I won't deny the truth of life,
Instead I'll turn to God for light,
I won't drown in my pride,
Instead I'll let kindness override,
I won't regret that I am here,
Instead I'll wipe away my fear,
Along with every lonely tear.

A POEM FOR ALFREDO

I've known you for fifteen years,
You've made me smile and
wiped away my tears.
You are my prince charming, my knight
in shining armor,
I'll know you for another fifteen years
and then more.
You are my love, my breath, my life,
My happiest day was when you made
me your wife.
Ups and downs we've shared more
than a few,
But with each I am reminded how much
I love you.
You are the Sunshine of My Life and
Stevie never said it better,
You are my inspiration in this writing of each
and every letter.
I love you more with each passing day,
Always and forever and ever
and a day.

ME

Who is this person who seems to be me?
Looking in the mirror different strangers I see
When another door of the past is unlocked
A new image of self I do concoct
One still wounded by the dark past
While another is willing to move into light at last
One Kind and loving and willing to give
Another judgmental, fearful, afraid to live
I'm learning not to give into rejection and fear
Nor respond to each innuendo I hear
I'm seeing a new image of self, at last
No longer invisible as I felt in the past
I'm able to feel the joy of living each day
As I move in a more positive way
As I come to know this new person, me
I'm learning to love this new image I see.
